Did you know that the Northern Rivers was home to pecan nuts farming?


Come and meet Ash and Matt, two accomplished chefs with a paddock-to-plate passion, who decided to leave everything behind to become pecan farmers.


Our pecan workshop includes:

 - a scenic road trip to discover the beautiful landscape of the Northern Rivers 

- a farm tour of Barefoot Farm by Ash and Matt

- a demonstration of pecans harvesting and an explanation of the basics of pecans farming 

- a baking class to make your own pecan biscuits (useful skills to impress guests!)

- a delicious pecan-based morning tea

- an opportunity to buy more local farm products from Barefoot Farm.


All workshop include return transportation from your pick-up location in Byron Bay to the Farm.

Come and meet Bec and John Zentveld at their coffee plantation in Newrybar, two established farmers with a long history in sustainable farming practices.


Our coffee workshop includes:

- a scenic road trip in the heart of the Northern Rivers

- a farm tour of Zentveld's Coffee Plantation by Bec

- hands-on coffee hulling

- private viewing of the roasting action

- an opportunity to test your barista skills (don't get too competitive, alright?)

- a coffee tasting accompanied by home-made bread, coffee blossom honey and chocolate coated coffee beans.

Interested in learning some permaculture essentials?


Come and meet Robyn, a permie-legend of the Northern Rivers, who created the International Permaculture Centre in the beautiful Nimbin Valley, where she has been teaching for nearly 30 years.


We offer a maze of seasonal permaculture workshops from bushfoods to seed saving, bamboo crafting, and incredible edible tubers. Check out our workshop page and calendar for more details on what we have to offer on specific dates.


All permaculture workshops include return transportation from your pick-up location in Byron Bay to the Djanbung Gardens in Nimbin, as well as a morning tea featuring garden-produced and home-made preserves accompanied by local Nimbin food specialities such as artisan sourdough breads, Nimbin Valley Dairy and Mountain Top Coffee.

Always dreamt to learn the art of flower composition?


Tara and Alex are expert in that matter. They will show you around their beautiful flower garden and teach you the wonders of growing, picking and arranging seasonal flowers into wreaths, heart-shape and more.


Our flower workshop includes:

- a scenic road trip throughout Bundjalung National Park

- a farm tour of the Olive Gap farm by Tara and Alex

- a practical on how to plant and grow seasonal flowers from seeds

- picking your own flowers and learning how to make a variety of flower compositions

- a delicious morning tea featuring garden-grown products, including edible flowers 

- a souvenir bag of various seeds to take home


All workshops includes return transportation from your pick-up location in Byron Bay to the Farm.
